6.68 Preview #1
So IceFrog released new blog post at PlayDotA.com last week (and I happen to open it only a few days ago, poor me). It can be found here: 6.68 Preview #1 - Aggression - DotA Forums
Here's a few comments from me. So that new feature is (probably) about saving more gold even if you die. "Reliable" gold gained from killing Heroes can be kept and not lost upon dying. I think this somehow promotes ganking to "save" money, just like putting money in a bank so it is not lost, and eventually it can be used to buy something.
However, this means that Heroes that do not kill often do not utilize this new feature as much. Example of these Heroes are supportive Heroes (that do not require much farming, and prefer to let their ally carries score the kill) such as Crystal Maiden, Warlock, et cetera.
Although, gold earned from Hero kills is not that much. Let's say you are a Centaur, and you are trying to rush Radiance early. Early on, let's say you got 5 kills. That's around 1000g, maybe more. As you are saving money to buy Radiance, you have gained 3000g. Then you die. You will still lose money since only "Reliable" money can be saved (and I am pretty sure that that 3000g consists of 1000 Reliable gold and 2000 Unreliable gold) And when you reach 3800g, you will buy Radiance, and all of that Reliable gold is consumed.
Well, that was just an example. Since 6.68 is not out yet, no one really knows how big the effects are. Maybe a few weeks after the release, people will know the real value of this feature, which is mostly about saving.
(Yeah, I am also waiting for 6.68, I hope it is going to be a really great update)
